We had a teacher at school who was very strict on dress code. Never let anyone slide. She was also a very fashionable dresser. I think she wanted others to take pride in their appearance, and that's what motivated her. One day I was wearing open toe sandal heels, more than a peep toe was against dress code. I saw her looking at my shoes and about died. I knew what was coming. She pulled me aside in the hall and loudly complimented my shoes. I was a very self conscious girl. She boosted my confidence so much and i wore those shoes frequently over the next year. She'd sometimes wink at me when i did. Definitely a positive event that shaped my confidence. 😊

Honestly I think the only things that should be banned in school dress code wise is offensive clothing (racist, anti-lgbt, sexually explicit, etc) and not wearing clothing at all. Otherwise the dress code today is sexist towards girls/women and gives an impression that boys/men are sexist perverts who can’t keep it in their pants

German schools meanwhile: wear what you want, as long as the crotch is covered and its not your sports clothes that stink. Yes you can wear a banana costume to school or a fursuite! As long as you don't pass out, everything is fair game!

so, fun story: i’m a pad person, and i went on a 50 mile backpacking trip. lucky me, i got my period the morning we left. i was annoyed but o went on. everything was fine until we went into the water in the afternoon, and i forgot the gel in pads expand when wet, so that evening i went out into the woods to not get pad gel in my tent, and tried to change my pad, wipe off the gel, go to the bathroom and change while being eaten alive by mosquitoes
